Reading a good book can give readers a new experience and someting that readers can relate to. We can see our own reflection in the characters and experience the growth with them. Harry Potter the Sorcerer?s Stone, is the story of a young boy who finds out he is a wizard. Harry Potter loses his parents when he is one year old. Then his aunt takes him into her family. But Harry Potter does not have a happy childhood there. His aunt and cousin treat him very hard. It a kind of unfortunate. When Harry Potter turns 11 years old, he meets something amazing happens to him. He gets a letter from an owl and he joins the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His life isn?t same after that time. He takes a long time study in the school. When Harry leave Dursley?s house, he starts a new life, in which he learns about death, develops his self-confidence, and learns about the importance of teamwork. All these experiences at Hogwarts contribute to his coming of age. When Harry leaves house to go to Hogwarts, he begins the journey that leads to his coming of age. John Kornfeld and Laurie Prothro they write that ?This transformational journey--which all young people must take to dicover who they are and where they fit in the world, to create their own version of home out of the strangeness they encounter when they are ?away?--forms the basis of much young adult, coming-of-age literature?
